Lose Weight Faster With HIIT Training on the Treadmill

If you want to get the most out of your treadmill and lose weight fast, you should consider HIIT, which stands for High Intensity Interval Training. Many people are doing HIIT because it takes less workout time and they lose weight faster. People stick to HIIT because it is a fun way to workout and routines can be varied from workout to workout.

HIIT really became popular for treadmill owners when a study came out about a decade ago. The study involved test subjects who were put on exercise programs for five months. The subjects were put into two groups. The first group did steady pace cardio for 45 minutes. They started out at 60% of their maximum heart rate and by the time the study was over they were working out to 85% of their maximum heart rate.

The second group only did HIIT training for half an hour segments during the entire five months. Their exercise program consisted of warming up to 70% of their maximum heart rate, followed by an interval of ten seconds of exercise which lowered their heart rates. Then, the group did a 90 second intense interval of exercise that elevated their heart rates back up, followed by a less intense interval that brought their heart rates down. The entire 30 minutes of the workout, this was repeated over and over.

After the study was done experts concluded that the second group that had been doing HIIT used less energy and time working out during the five months. It was also found that the second group lost three times more fat than the other group, and the fat group two lost was primarily the fat that many people find so hard to get rid of, subcutaneous fat, or the fat that is directly beneath the skin.

So what makes HIIT so powerful for weight loss? After doing HIIT a person’s body goes into what is known as EPOC, or Excess Post-exercise Oxygen Consumption. EPOC is what your body does when it needs more oxygen to return to a resting state. This means after doing HIIT your body is using more oxygen and burning more calories even hours after your workout is completed. One study that was done in 2002 reported that there was an elevated resting metabolic rate in participants even 48 hours later.

Treadmill owners love doing HIIT because it works for so many of them. The added bonus is doing HIIT on a treadmill lets people have a fun workout quickly. HIIT routines are intense, but they should last no more than 20 to 30 minutes. Start your workout warming up to your maximum heart rate range, then cycle in and out of lower heart rate zones and then raise your heart rate back up to it maximum rate, again. Repeat this throughout your workout doing as many, or as few, intervals as you like.

Experts recommend that HIIT be done two or three days a week. They don’t recommend doing it back to back because it is so intense. To relieve the stress on your body, put a day or two in between your HIIT routines. Don’t feel guilty on the days you aren’t doing HIIT, relax and know you are still burning calories and losing weight!

Pure Hoodia Gordonii and the Importance of the CITES Certificate

Anyone who has considered hoodia diet pills and has done any research on them has read about the importance of looking for a CITES certificate to identify authentic hoodia gordonii. I often wonder if people even understand what the certificate is and why it so important to look for one. If you have a basic understanding of what a CITES certificate is and what its role is within the hoodia trade, you’ll know why looking for one is so important when trying to find authentic hoodia gordonii.

The hoodia gordonii plant is a protected plant that is in high demand. This cactus looking plant used to only grow in the wilds of South Africa. However, the increased demand for the plant, because of its weight loss properties, has prompted many people to begin farming the plant. This led South Africa to put regulations on the plant. Regulations that not only would protect the plant, but the San people who claim it as their native plant. There are controls in place that now regulate the growing, harvesting and exportation of the hoodia gordonii plant.

CITES certificates are one of the basic controls put in place to protect the endangered hoodia plant. There are other documents that are required as well, but for the purposes of this article I’ll only address the CITES certificate. CITES refers to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora and is an international agreement between governments. Their goal is to ensure that international trade does not threaten the survival of endangered species.

In order for a company to legally export hoodia gordonii from South Africa, an export permit from CITES must be obtained. Every shipment exported from South Africa must be accompanied by a CITES permit. These permits expire in six months, but the expiration period only pertains to the actual shipment of hoodia gordonii out of South Africa. In other words, a supplier has six months from the time they are issued a CITES permit to actually ship the hoodia gordonii out of South Africa. If they don’t and the shipment of hoodia sits in the port, the supplier must reapply for a new permit.

This is important to understand because there is some confusion in the hoodia industry about the dates shown on CITES permits. People are led to believe that CITES permits must be “current” in order to be valid, otherwise they don’t mean anything. They mistakenly believe that if the CITES certificate is older than six months the company must be lying or must be trying to pull a fast one on the consumer. In some instances an “old” CITES certificate may be just that, but it is not necessarily the rule.

It is not uncommon to see outdated CITES permits. If someone ships in a large quantity of hoodia gordonii, they may still have some of the plant on hand even though their CITES permit has expired. The CITES permit stays with the product until it is all gone. The permit only proves the product that was shipped was authentic hoodia gordonii. It doesn’t have anything to do with how long it may sit at a supplier once it has been exported.

It is also fairly common to see a name other than the company you are purchasing hoodia products from on the CITES permit. For instance, you may purchase your hoodia products from Company A, but Company B may be listed on their CITES permit. This is completely normal and it shouldn’t make you question the integrity of a company.

There are only a few suppliers who are issued CITES permits. Supplement companies then buy their hoodia gordonii from these few suppliers. In the example above, Supplier Incorporated is listed on the permit so that means they were the actual supplier that exported the hoodia gorodnii. Helen’s Health Company is displaying a CITES certificate issued to Supplier Incorporated so that means Helen’s Health purchased the hoodia gordonii they use in their products from Supplier Incorporated.

You should know that just because a website displays a CITES certificate doesn’t guarantee that they are packing their capsules with 100% pure hoodia gordonii. Since all hoodia products are supplements and supplements are not regulated, some companies make claims about their products that aren’t true. Just because a company has a CITES permit doesn’t mean they are packaging their hoodia in a way that is beneficial to weight loss. In other words, a CITES permit should not be a green light for you to assume the product that is being sold is pure hoodia gordonii.

All the CITES permit is meant to convey is the supplier had permission to export a certain amount of hoodia gordonii out of South Africa by a certain date. Once it arrives at the companies that are packaging hoodia products, they can do whatever they want with it. They can claim they are selling a pill that is 500 mg of pure hoodia gordonii, but it may only contain 150mg or 250mg.

Now that you have a better understanding of what the CITES certificate is and what its role is, you know why looking for one is important when trying to find authentic hoodia gordonii diet pills and products.

Benefits of the Reverse Osmosis Water Filter

Reverse osmosis water filters are often used to purify bottled water, taking water right out of the tap and running it through a filtration system before selling it to you in those convenient and expensive bottles. You’re not limited to purchasing water purified this way; instead, consider installing a filter to clean your water system. These filters run water through a membrane that allows only clean water to pass through; all other contaminants, from germs to chlorine, remain on the other side of the membrane and are flushed from the system. Almost every major contaminant is removed from your water with this method: chlorine and fluoride, arsenic, heavy metals, nitrates and pesticides, iron (you can get too much), sediments, bacteria and viruses, and even bad taste and smell.

The reverse osmosis water filter is also referred to as a hyperfiltration system. That’s because it is so very effective at removing contaminants from your water supply. It works by moving your water through a series of reservoirs, in which the clean water moves to the clean side of the filter, leaving behind the contaminants. The filter does not work through pressure; instead, water must move passively. This means that the filtration process is slower than you might find in other water filtration systems. A reverse osmosis water filtration system will require a large tank to be installed under your counter which will provide a drinking water reservoir. In most systems, you can expect to produce around fifteen gallons a day of bottled-quality water. If you’re a bottled water fan, this will save you much more than the reverse osmosis filter will cost you.

There are two types of membranes typical to reverse osmosis water filters. A thin film composite (TFC) membrane is very good at removing contaminants, but it is also very susceptible to damage from chlorinated water supplies. An activated carbon pre-filtration system may need to be installed upstream of your TFC membrane to remove chlorine before it gets to the membrane. The other type of membrane is the cellulose triacetate (CTA) filter, which is also good at removing contaminants though inferior to the TFC, but does not have a problem processing chlorine. Make sure before installing your water filtration system that you have the membrane most appropriate to your water system; a damaged membrane can force you to replace your entire filtration system.

If you have a problem with biological contaminants, you should consider using not just a reverse osmosis water filter by itself, but also using an ultraviolet filter, as this filter is the most effective by far in removing biological contaminants without otherwise contaminating your water supply. So your perfect reverse osmosis water filter may need to have a total of three filters to be completely effective at cleaning your water: the activated carbon filter (which needs to be changed regularly), the osmosis filter, and the ultraviolet filter (which needs an electrical power outlet). With these three filters in your system, however, you can be assured of a tasty, reliable, and clean water supply for your home and family.

The only drawback to the reverse osmosis water filtration system: it takes an enormous amount of water to produce those fifteen gallons a day, up to ten gallons of water for each clean gallon of water provided. Waste water from your reverse osmosis system should be redirected into a gray water reservoir if you live in a drought-prone area, where it can be used later to water your lawn.

Do you have constant pain under your left rib cage?

Back pain under the left rib cage is a dilemma for all patients suffering from it. Doctors view any constant pain seriously and treat it as a serious disorder or disease. The rib cage is a structure that is formed by the thoracic vertebrae and ribs, sternum-breastbone, and the costal cartilages that connect the ribs to the sternum. A common definition of the term cage is a large enclosure where animals are kept. The rib cage can be considered as a cage that houses or holds the largest animal heart and lung, also called a thoracic cage in medical terms.

In the chest-thorax region, nerves spring out from the spine and divide into two parts. The first part goes to just under the skin and further sends fibers to the surface and also travels around half way around the chest. This is a probable reason for the feeling of pain in the back to the side of the chest. The second part travels to the bottom of the rib around the sternum bone, and also surfaces to the skin and then goes back towards the side on the same level as the first nerve. A fractured or cracked rib can cause rib cage pain, costochondritis, inflammation of the cartilage near the breastbone, osteoporosis and pleurisy.
