Much has been written over the years as to why we have acne. Where does it come from? How do I get rid of it? Which treatments are truly effective and which are pure bunk?

For the majority of people out there fighting their acne has only meant one thing and that has been some type of drug or another. For most of us that has been the only way of life in treating acne but is it possible to treat acne naturally and be successful?

Most researchers will tell you that due to the underlying causes of acne, most natural approaches to treatment have a very low success rate. My research indicates that this is not true at all.

Cellulite is the condition where the skin appears to have that orange peel affect in certain areas; predominantly accumulating in areas below the waist. Do You Fall Asleep During the Day?

Here is what happens in sleep apnea: the airway collapses when you breathe in. Fatty tissue lining the airway makes the airway less elastic. So sleep apnea is a condition caused by overweight, generally speaking. Snoring typically accompanies it.

The airway closes. The sleeper struggles for breath. The oxygen level in the blood drops. As a result, blood pressure spikes. The sleeper begins to awaken. A semi-conscious effort opens the airway, and the breath is finally allowed in. This cycle can happen several times per minute. If breathing stops for 10 seconds, sleep apnea is diagnosed.

Sleep apnea wears out your cardiovascular system because of the constant cycle of high blood pressure. It also shreds your rest because of the continual near-waking required to keep breathing.

Effective treatment comes through a system that supplies mild air pressure to your nose and mouth as you sleep. This continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) system consists of a fan inside a box, a hose, and a mask. The fan pressurizes the air, delivered through the hose and mask to the nose and mouth. The pressurized air keeps your airway open as you breathe in, and isn’t enough to prevent you from exhaling.

Well, nothing’s perfect, and some people report their masks are not comfortable. But there are plenty of options on the market.

The CPAP might limit your activities, too, because you always have to wear it, even if you are traveling or camping.

The fan makes a noise, but it’s a white noise that may actually help you fall asleep.

So, do a quick risk analysis. Is the risk of early death worth the inconvenience of wearing a mask and finding an electric outlet whenever you fall asleep?

Here in the United States, common use of the term ‘aromatherapy’ has been skewed so much that only that ‘touchy-feely’ aspect of ‘feeling good from smelling something nice’ is it’s complete definition to most folks. If you happen to know better, this article may just be a refresher in the science of therapeutic essential oil usage, but one that may help you teach others the ‘why’ of ‘medical aromatherapy’ – if this concept is new, however, read on and learn – this may be important to you someday!

At it’s heart, Aromatherapy encompasses the entire branch of botanical medicine using volatile aromatic plant compounds for treatment of various medical conditions. The term was coined by a French scientist after his discovery of Lavender oil’s healing effects on burns he had sustained in the laboratory. The practice of ‘aroma’ therapy – or the inhalation of essential oils to make one ‘feel good’ – is more a delightful side-note than the primary healing benefit essential oils can provide. Many important actions of essential oils don’t even have to do with one’s sense of smell. Beyond acting on the psyche through the limbic system (the ‘emotional’ center of the brain, immediately affected by the smell sense), many essential oils have proven antibiotic, antiviral, antispasmodic, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, tissue-regenerative and other actions.

The well-known effects of genuine essential oils on the nervous system and psyche through the smell sense is certainly not to be ignored. Important, useful actions have been documented through university studies. Lavender oil, for example, has been noted to help many individuals who suffer from insomnia; even better than pharmaceutical sedatives in many cases, without side effects and development of tolerance. Other studies have shown improvement of test scores of students who have inhaled Lemon or Rosemary oils during study sessions. The list continues – and with little surprise. The ‘aromatic’ effects of essential oils rely on the olfactory sense’s direct connection with primary control centers of the brain. It is the only one of the five senses with such a direct connection – the others are first routed through the Thalamus before interacting with the bulk of the gray matter.

The olfactory sense is closely tied to the limbic system, which is the center of emotions, plays a significant part in the formation of memories, and affects our sexual responses. The olfactory region also connects to the hypothalamus, which in-turn controls the entire hormonal system through it’s influence of the pituitary gland. One can easily imagine an olfactory sense receptor being stimulated by the mist of an essential oil resulting in downstream stimulation of the brain in a certain way – stimulating, sedating, relaxing, or otherwise – depending on the molecular form of the oil.

This brings us to the great range of non-’aromatic’, therapeutic uses of essential oils. Modern aromatherapy practice includes topical application, ingestion, and suppository use of these natural plant comounds. Safe and effective treatment depends completely on the particular essential oil – some are absolutely not to be taken internally and others are known strong skin irritants. Effects through topical application rely on the small size and lipophillic nature of essential oil molecules – the oil-like compounds pass through the lipid bi-layers of skin cells to be absorbed directly into the bloodstream. Used this way, essential oils can produce profound physiological responses – again ranging widely depending on the oil. Topical application may be helpful in a variety of skin, joint, and muscle conditions, infectious illness, as well as for more general stress related states. Oral injestion and suppositories are often used in systemic infectious illnesses of microbial or viral natures – the oils are quickly absorbed and able to travel easily throughout the body, again to due to their structure which is quite compatible with human physiology. With the growing body of evidence validating the efficacy of natural medicines, however, and the failing confidence in our allopathic medical institutions, it may not be long until essential oils find their rightful place in our medicine chests. With every day passing we are able to discover unknown facts that have supported the existence of homo-sapiens on this planet and have helped them pass through the test of time and reach the point where they have been able to create a civilization. Of these unexplored aspects that is not completely known by us is the impact of the cosmic energy on the lifestyle and the actions of human body. It is believed that seven chakras in our body participate in exchanging energy and hence control a lot of human activities and behaviour.

Generally, the energy we refer to is the ability to perform physical tasks due to the strength we get from food but our body demands much more than that, we also receive a lot of inner energy that is necessary for us to develop resistance against tough situations and to take decisions, this inner energy is the resultant of the positive energy that the seven chakras receive from the various planets and satellites.

The reverse curl specifically targets the fibers to be found in the lower and side abdominal muscles. Again lay on your back on then floor and then bend your knees towards your chest to a position that you feel comfortable with. But you must ensure that your hips remain on the floor. Then in order to lift up your hips off the floor you need to start contracting your abdominal muscles and this in turn will bring your knees closer to your chest. It is important that whilst you are doing this exercise you make sure that your legs do not swing.

But if after a while you start to find both the standard crunch and reverse curl a little easier to do then why not try out the combination crunch instead. This is more challenging as it requires you to actually do the 2 exercises previously mentioned in this article at the same time.

No matter if you are a man or a woman when it comes to improving the condition of your abdominal muscles you need to be aware that not all the exercises people use will work for everyone. Therefore it is important that you yourself spend some time looking at the ones that others are using and may be try a few of them out. It is only through trying them out are you likely to find the exercises which are ideally suited to you and your body shape. Also by doing this you will find that in the long run being able to achieve your goal of having great looking abs will be much more easily achieved.
