The American Nurses Health Care reform endeavor is a group of health care professionals, most of whom have advocated in the past for the rights of patients – and have now taken up the battle cry for the government to pass legislation establishing affordable quality health care for everyone – regardless of race, economic, or financial situation.
Many of those registered nurses involved in this group have been advocating for improved patient care and medical treatment equality for years – and in whatever capacity they could. To this day, they still stand behind the belief that each and every person who comes to a medical facility for treatment or any health-related situation, deserves to have medical staff treat them with dignity, respect and compassion, as well as provide them with the best care.
And, if you were to read any of the “mission” statements written in the American Nurses Codes of Ethics manual, you would be able to see how they basically relate to the intent behind the organization’s health care reform project. So, that having been said, read on for some examples of just a few of their main points, in this brief, reworded summary:
The licensed caregiver performs the duties of the profession with compassion and understanding towards each of her patients. She respects each for his uniqueness, and shows him the dignity and respect he deserves as her patient – regardless of the nature of his illness, or any personal, social or financial differences he may have with the other clients who are under her care.
The RN willingly protects her patients – and the public, if necessary – from any of those people whose incompetence, illegal practices or unethical behavior adversely affects the safety and well-being of those patients under her care, and others in the vicinity.
As a nurse, you also agree to be accountable for any individual decision you make or action you take, in regard to the care you provide your clients. And, you agree that your medical education is an ongoing endeavor, and as it is so, will continue, in order to further your knowledge and competence in the field of nursing as required.
As an RN, you are obligated and agree to participate in keeping the public from being exposed to useless misinformation that could cause a mass hysteria. You also agree to maintain your own integrity, and the integrity of the nursing profession, by acting in a noble and moral manner at all times. And, you agree to work with those persons in other fields of medicine, in order to meet the needs of your patients, the community – and the nation, if applicable.
So, after reading this article, it might now be clear to you as to how the American Nurses Health Care reform endeavor basically reflects back upon their own code of ethics. And, it’s pretty easy to see that any person who has been, or will become a patient sometime in the future, is very lucky indeed to have such a caring and driving force taking care of him, and looking out for the health of future generations.
Nurses health care is critically important, due to the nature of the job. Using HealthCare options will help to keep costs to a minimum.
